Here's How An Electronic Air Cleaner Works...

Standard media filters merely get in the way of larger particulate in the air while LakeAir electronic air cleaners attract and retain airborne particulate like a powerful magnet. As dirty air (1) is drawn through the air cleaner, the larger particles are trapped by a prefilter screen (2). Smaller particles pass through to the ionizing section of the electronic filter cell (3) where they are given a positive electrical charge. The positively charged particles continue through to the negatively charged collecting section of the electronic filter cell (4) where they are attracted and caught by the opposite charge in this section - just like a magnet attracts iron filings. The pollutants are held on the collecting section until they are washed away during the cleaning process. (5) The air is then passed through an odor absorbing activated carbon, (sometimes referred to as charcoal) afterfilter (6), freshening the purified air.

LA-1400S, LA-1402S (230v) White Cabinet Built for commercial and light industrial use, the LA-1400S boasts a total collecting area of over 13,000 square inches and can operate in either a right-to left or left-to-right airflow direction. Ceiling mounted with provided eye bolts for chain hanging or wall mounted with an optional wall mounting bracket, the LA-1400S provides powerful, quiet cleaning at two speeds. The two cell system increases first-pass and extended (over time) efficiency and reduces maintenance. Like the LA-1400S, the LA-2000S can be wall or ceiling mounted in either a right-to-left or left-to-right airflow pattern. Available in walnut wood grain, white, or black finishes. A low 11" depth means the LAFC requires very little space between the "true ceiling" and drop ceiling for installation, and no portion of the unit hangs down from the ceiling. This is especially important in low ceiling applications where a larger unit would take up valuable room space or where persons walking underneath could hit their head.
